National League @ Dalgety Bay (Tue, Jan 29)

A wind-blown trip across the bridge saw us arrive safely in Dalgety. The Bay were missing Neil Bennett (though he was there to support) and Iain Tennant but their strength-in-depth is such that even with our strongest side, it was going to be touch-and-go if we could get a badly needed win.
The Bay supporters gathered and were treated to some great squash, sportingly applauding good play regardless of whose racket it came off.

Terriffic effort - Cath had her hands full against a very capable 16yo and was beginning to get into her stride but PAR-11 doesn't allow the luxury of a slow start.
#4 E Young b C John 11-1 11-4 11-6

Return of Hamer was like he'd never been away, stuck with his man but just shaded out of it in the first, he again stuck with him on the scoreboard for the second and played some great percentage squash to get a game on extra points. Not at his fittest, he was on the back foot for the next two games but he'd done enough hopefully to get us the bonus points.
#3 R Northin b A Hamer 11/9 10-12 11/6 11/7

Douglas was hampered by a sore ankle and survived game ball against him in the first against the legend that is John Meadley. After that he was in control, but not until he'd sent me on a wild goose chase around the wilds and mud of Dalgety for ice.
#2 J Meadley l D Kempsell 11-13 8-11 7-11

Kevin was uber-dominant in the first two games, reducing Allan Tasker to frustrated exhibition shots. The third was closely contested, Kevin was peerless with his forehand volleys clinging to perfect dying length.
#1 A Tasker l K Moran 2/11 1/11 9/11

Matches 2-2 tied, won on games countback 7-6, earning points bonus 3
Result 10-7
Back to the Hillend Tavern for pots of Chilli with lots of hot condiments. Dalgety have joined the online-bookings set along with Linlithgow and Grange, a sure sign of a progressive club.

That website page is 18 months old and needs updated.
Linlithgow on-line booking went live as of Jul 2011 following our input.
They are using Peoria, which we pioneered in 2005. Dalgety are using a different provider, at similar cost.
